Construction Miner

Job Summary

• This role is responsible for the construction and maintenance of underground mine infrastructure, including tunnels, shafts, and buildings.

Key Responsibilities

• Scaling and conducting pre-operation inspections of work sites.
• Filling out 5-point cards and maintaining accurate operating records, including daily work reports.
• Installing ground support with handheld equipment when required.
• Applying shotcrete (dry).
• Installing ventilation control walls.
• Installing fans and ventilation ducts.
• Installing and maintaining mine services (air, water, and pumping).
• Installing pumping installations (dams, stationary pumping stations, weirs, etc.).
• Installing bumper blocks.
• Constructing general mine infrastructure (refuges, ESS, storages, mags, ventilation doors, shops, etc.).
• Inspecting work during and after completion to ensure it meets prints and standards.
• Contributing to and establishing effective workplace relationships.
• Providing workplace status updates to relevant personnel at the end of each shift.
• Providing mentorship and guidance to less experienced crew members.
• Supporting the construction supervisor by conducting site inspections, QA/QC, and establishing methodologies in construction contexts, etc.

Qualifications and Experience

• A minimum of 3 years of construction experience in mining operations.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work independently.
• Computer proficiency.
• Strong experience in construction, carpentry, concrete, and welding work.
• Ability to read and understand engineering prints (civil work, structural work, rock excavation work).
• Exhibit high attention to detail and high standards.
• Good communication skills, coupled with strong leadership abilities.
• Qualification as a train-the-trainer would be an asset.

Work Schedule

10-hour shifts, following a 5-4-4-5 rotating schedule.
