Wallcovering Specialist

$33 - $35 per hour

We are seeking a skilled Drywaller/Painter to join our team at On Side Restoration. As a key member of our crew, you will play a vital role in rebuilding and restoring damaged property for our clients.

Drywallers at On Side work tirelessly to make damaged drywall disappear and new drywall appear in the form of smooth walls and textured ceilings, creating a sense of magic for our clients. Painters bring colour and vibrancy to their dreams with fresh, clean surfaces in the perfect shade.

• Experience working in construction environments with tools and skills to use them

• Ability to communicate in English

• Measuring, cutting, and installing drywall sheets
• Tear out old or damaged drywall
• Cut and install metal corner beads to protect exterior corners
• Filling joints, nail indentations, holes, and cracks using trowel and broad knife
• Taping and embedding joints
• Texturing of all types
• Site preparation and protection

• Estimating material quantities by measuring surfaces, reviewing scopes, sketches, and work orders
• Removing old coatings by stripping with solvents, heat, sanding, wire brushing, or water and abrasive blasting
• Preparing surfaces for covering by cleaning, filling nail holes and cracks, and sanding rough spots
• Applying undercoat primer or sealer before painting or applying sizing before wallpapering
• Matching specified colours by using premixed paints or mixing colour and thinning and drying additives
• Using brushes, rollers, or spray guns to apply liquid coatings to various surfaces
• Applying finishes that are sponged, ragged, and layered
• Applying paper, vinyl, or natural and synthetic fabric wallcoverings
