Role Overview

We are seeking highly skilled Utility Locating Field Specialists to join our dynamic team at multiVIEW Locates Inc. The ideal candidate must possess industry-related experience with in-depth knowledge of utility locating and a strong understanding of the tools and equipment required for the job.

About the Job

The successful candidate will be responsible for traveling to various worksites daily, where they will use electromagnetic induction locating equipment to locate, mark, and record underground utilities. This role requires excellent problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently as part of a team.

Key Responsibilities

  • Field Data Collection: Operate electromagnetic induction locating equipment with all accessories to collect accurate field data
  • Project Safety Inspections: Read project sheets and perform thorough safety site inspections to ensure compliance with industry standards
  • Map Augmentation: Read, interpret, and augment maps with notes to provide valuable information for future projects
  • Vehicle Operations: Drive service vehicle safely and maintain inventory and storage of equipment
  • Travel Requirements: Travel to other cities/areas, work in various settings, and adapt to changing work site conditions
  • Adaptive Work Schedule: Work evenings, weekends, or out-of-town on occasion as needed
  • Technical Skills: Operate a computer, create digital locate sketches, and take photos of locates

Required Skills and Qualifications

  • Clean Driver's License: A valid driver's license is required
  • ORCGA DPT Training: Training in ORCGA DPT is an asset
  • Self-Organization and Multi-Tasking: Ability to self-organize and prioritize tasks effectively
  • Customer Interaction: Experience dealing directly with customers and providing excellent customer service
  • Communication and Teamwork: Strong communication and teamwork skills
  • Criminal Record Check: A criminal record check is required
  • Independent and Teamwork: Ability to work independently and as part of a team
