Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled Weapon System Specialist to join our team at the Naval Engineering Test Establishment (NETE). As a key member of our team, you will provide engineering, technical, and logistical support services to the Royal Canadian Navy (RCN) and allied nations on a range of weapon systems and related support equipment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Investigate and repair hardware and software faults onboard ships and in workshops;
  • Develop technical solutions or changes to in-service equipment;
  • Support test events, including planning, data collection, and analysis;
  • Implement alterations to in-service systems;
  • Develop, review, update, and distribute technical documentation;
  • Verify and validate systems independently;
  • Provide training related to supported systems.
Requirements:
  • Engineering technologist diploma or BSc in Engineering or BSc with suitable military officer experience;
  • 10 years of significant and recent experience in a related field;
  • Ability to work collaboratively to design, develop, and deploy quality solutions;
  • Effective communication of technical concepts to non-experts;
  • Resourcefulness and ability to work independently under minimal supervision;
  • Eligibility for a Canadian secret security classification;
  • Proficient in reading, writing, and speaking English.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience as a technologist;
  • Willingness to travel nationally and internationally;
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret technical documentation;
  • Ability to write reports, technical correspondence, and procedure manuals.
