Senior Risk Analyst

Pembina Pipeline Corporation is seeking a highly skilled Senior Analyst, Market Risk to join its Market Risk team. As a key member of the team, you will be responsible for supporting the daily risk management of Pembina's commodity, FX, and interest rate activities.
Key Responsibilities- Perform risk analysis for Pembina's commodity related marketing and hedging activities, with a focus on crude oil and NGLs;
- Develop and maintain quantitative risk models that report relevant risk metrics for approved trading strategies;
- Liaise with commercial teams to perform scenario-based analysis on strategies to determine potential outcomes with respect to exposures, impact on key risk measures, and accomplishing book objectives;
- Monitor transaction activity for compliance of trader mandates and limits;
- Support ETRM development and maintenance, including data management, testing, reporting, and enhancement opportunities;
- Assist in managing and validating reference data, forward price curves, and internal trader marks;
- Proactively lead standardization, efficiency, and automation efforts;
- Exercises strong judgment to identify, diagnose, and solve problems within given rules and parameters;
- Provide ad-hoc analysis and support for other business areas and audit as required;
- Support Pembina's safety culture of "Zero by Choice" and the "Life Saving Rules".
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related discipline;
- CFA, CPA, MBA is preferred;
- Risk Management designation in ERP or FRM is an asset;
- Strong understanding of and proven ability to explain VaR, MTM, position, exposure and other Risk Management concepts;
- Knowledge of industry trends and regulatory requirements for risk reporting;
- Understanding of North American physical product flow and energy infrastructure;
- Minimum of 5 years transferable experience in market risk management, preference for commodity experience in the energy sector;
- Strong understanding of energy markets, physical/financial instruments, deal life cycle, and risk management methodologies;
- Ability to work autonomously and derive meaningful conclusions to explain book changes in a short period of time;
- Advanced proficiency with standard Microsoft applications;
- Experience with databases and data validation;
- Proficient understanding of price risk is preferred;
- Outstanding financial modeling and economic evaluation skills;
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills, with the ability to communicate in a clearly;
- Experience implementing or using an ETRM system is an asset.
