At McGraw Hill, our team of innovative software engineers is shaping the future of education. We're seeking a talented Lead Software Engineer, Platform to join our Content Acceleration team.

About the Role

We're looking for a seasoned software leader with a passion for driving progress and delivering high-quality software. As a Lead Software Engineer, you'll collaborate with product and academic design teams to accelerate our content development process.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the development of scalable API applications and craft intuitive user interfaces for students and teachers.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and remove obstacles, ensuring timely project delivery.
  • Design and implement creative solutions using GenAI, automation, and process engineering.
  • Balance technical problem-solving with the need for efficient software delivery across a distributed microservice architecture.
Requirements
  • 3+ years of experience in a technical leadership position.
  • 8+ years of demonstrated software delivery experience with a distributed product & engineering team.
  • Proficiency in full-stack technologies, including Go, NodeJS, TypeScript, Angular, and relational database design concepts.
  • Experience with Amazon Web Services, including RDS, Elasticsearch, SQS, and S3.
  • A keen desire to research new technologies and methodologies, and a passion for using data to drive decisions.
