Job Summary

The Clinical Care Physician will provide high-quality patient care in an inpatient setting, working collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team to deliver exceptional outcomes. This role requires strong clinical skills, excellent communication, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assess and manage patient care, including writing medical orders and responding to changing patient conditions
  • Perform and document admission history and physical examinations, progress notes, and discharge summaries
  • Develop treatment plans and follow through on investigations in consultation with attending staff
  • Communicate effectively with patients, families, and other healthcare professionals
  • Perform procedures within the scope of their demonstrated competence, including phlebotomy, wound assessment, and insertion of central venous catheters

Requirements

  • Medical degree from a recognized institution
  • Minimum of two years of postgraduate training as a medical or surgical specialist
  • Successful completion of Part 1 of the Medical Council of Canada Qualifying Examination (MCCQE) or Steps 1 through 3 of the United States Medical Licensing Examinations (USMLEs)
  • Eligibility for registration with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of British Columbia (CPSBC)
