About the Role:

GFL Environmental is seeking a highly motivated and energetic Route Inspector (m/f) to support our growing organization.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage the personnel of the operations department (drivers and waste collectors).
  • Monitor productivity and maximize operations.
  • Distribute work routes.
  • Prepare travel plans for different sectors (road maps).
  • Consolidate time sheets and weight tickets.
  • Conduct on-road observations.
  • Monitor vehicle maintenance.
  • Follow up on complaints with the customer service department and municipalities.
  • Apply GFL's health and safety policies at work.
  • Apply the collective agreement.
  • Perform any other tasks requested by the immediate supervisor.

Requirements and Qualifications:

  • We are looking for a candidate with a D.E.S. and 3 years of experience in route management and/or 2-3 years of experience in personnel management in a unionized environment.
  • Experience in the transportation industry is considered an asset.
  • A good knowledge of Bill 430 is also considered an asset.
  • To occupy the position, it is essential to demonstrate excellent ability to work under pressure and good stress management skills in crisis situations.
  • You must demonstrate a very high level of availability and flexibility.
  • You must hold a valid driver's license.
