Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Security Officer to join our team at CB Canada. As a Security Officer, you will be responsible for protecting our assets and providing a safe and welcoming environment for our guests and team members.

Key Responsibilities
  • Monitor and document internal and external violations, unsafe conditions, and potential hazards;
  • Enforce restricted access by unauthorized persons;
  • Observe transactions, slot drops, and chip fills;
  • Perform identification checks for guests under 30;
  • Refer disputes to the Supervisor, Security;
  • Conduct regular patrols of the interior and exterior of the property;
  • Escort guests and team members;
  • Perform crowd control as directed;
  • Attend to first aid incidents;
  • Assist with enrolling guests in the Self-Exclusion program;
  • Ensure compliance with licensing laws, health and safety, and other statutory regulations;
Requirements
  • High School diploma or equivalent required, post-secondary education an asset;
  • Two (2) years of experience working with the public in a service role or in the service industry;
  • Excellent problem-solving and conflict resolution capabilities;
  • Previous experience or training in security an asset;
  • Valid class driver's license;
  • Current First Aid/CPR certification;
  • Ability to successfully obtain a Responsible liquor service (SIR) and food safety certification;
  • Inquisitive and investigative mind, able to identify suspicious behaviors/transactions and make sound judgments;
  • Willingness to learn, develop, and achieve new skills for personal and professional development;
  • Computer literacy in MS Office;
  • Able to organize data with great accuracy;
  • Knowledge of privacy legislation an asset;
  • Self-motivator and ability to inspire other team members in enhancing the guest experience;
  • Ability to multi-task and prioritize;
  • Ability to follow rules, regulations, policies, and procedures at all times;
  • Ability to work independently, without close direct supervision, and apply good judgment and discretion under pressure;
Work Environment

This is a regular casino/Racing environment, requiring standing and walking for long periods of time, some elements of danger, some exposure to the elements, some exposure to noise, some exposure to verbal or physical abuse, and non-traditional work hours.
