About the Role

This position is part of the Pharmacy team at BC Cancer, a comprehensive cancer control program that provides care to the people of British Columbia. The team operates in accordance with the competency guidelines and scope/standards of practice for Pharmacy Technicians as outlined by the College of Pharmacists of British Columbia and relevant legislation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Process medication orders that are clinically reviewed for therapeutic appropriateness and approved by a Pharmacist.
  • Receive verbal and non-verbal prescriptions from practitioners and ensure that prescriptions are complete and authentic.
  • Prepare, process and compound prescriptions, ensuring the accuracy and completeness of dispensed prescriptions.
  • Transfer prescriptions to and receive prescriptions from other pharmacies.
  • Enter and ensure the accuracy and completeness of drug and personal health information in the Pharmacy information system.

What We're Looking For

  • Current registration as a Pharmacy Technician with the College of Pharmacists of British Columbia.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work in a team environment.
  • Physical ability to carry out the duties of the position.
