About the Role

The Executive Medical Director, Interfacility Transport & Critical Care, plays a crucial role in shaping the future of critical care at BC Emergency Health Services. As a member of the Clinical Operations team, you will work closely with the Chief Medical Officer to establish strategic priorities and drive effective service delivery.

Key Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with stakeholders to develop and implement a comprehensive interfacility transportation system and critical care program across the province.
  • Provide medical leadership and oversight for program development and implementation related to interfacility transport and critical care.
  • Foster strategic, clinical, and operational relationships with public safety and health authority stakeholders to identify opportunities for improvement and promote patient-centered care.
  • Develop and monitor clinical service plans for interfacility transport and critical care, aligning with overall operations service plans.

Requirements

  • Eligibility for registration with the BC College of Physicians and Surgeons, plus Royal College (RC) or CCFP(EM) certification.
  • Fellowship in Critical Care Medicine from the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada or an equivalent qualification.
  • A minimum of 5 years' experience practicing at the Consultant level in a tertiary or quaternary care intensive care unit, with current clinical competency in critical care medicine.
  • Strong leadership skills, including a clear understanding of hospital processes and commitment to a patient- and family-centred model of care.
  • Commitment to promoting diversity, equity, inclusion, and cultural safety, as well as upholding Indigenous rights and self-determination.

What We Offer

  • An estimated salary of $225,000 - $275,000 per year, depending on qualifications and experience.
