Emergency Transporter

Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Transporter to join our Emergency Department team on a part-time basis. As a Transporter, you will play a critical role in ensuring the smooth operation of our Emergency Department, working closely with our Emergency physicians, registered nurses, and ward clerks to provide exceptional patient care.
Key Responsibilities:
- Transport patients to medical imaging and in-patient floors
- Transport laboratory samples and specimens to the lab
- Respond to emergency situations
- Observe and adhere to all policies and procedures, work standards, and safety regulations
- Demonstrate initiative and problem-solving skills
Requirements:
- High School diploma
- Experience required in continuous heavy lifting, processing of documentation through use of computers
What We Offer:
As a Transporter with North York General Hospital, you will enjoy a highly competitive total compensation package, including pay in lieu of benefits, vacation pay, and the opportunity to join the Hospital Pension Plan. This is a part-time regular position, 8 hour shifts, weekends only shifts (day/evening/night), every other weekend, in the Emergency Department.
COVID-19 Vaccination: As a condition of employment, you are required to submit proof of COVID-19 vaccination to the Hospital's Occupational Health and Safety department.
