We are seeking a highly motivated and driven Senior M&A Associate to join our team at Valsoft Corporation. As a key member of our global expansion efforts, you will be responsible for identifying and evaluating M&A targets that align with our growth objectives.
Key Responsibilities:
- Identify and evaluate M&A targets that align with Valsoft's growth objectives
- Employ a proactive approach to reach out to potential targets and foster relationships with owners and sell-side advisors
- Conduct comprehensive pre-acquisition due diligence and negotiate deal terms
- Manage and execute the due diligence process, including financial and commercial assessments
- Perform other related duties as assigned
About You
We are looking for a highly skilled and experienced professional with a strong background in investment banking, private equity, or corporate development. You will have a proven track record of success in M&A transactions and a deep understanding of the software industry.
Requirements:
- At least a Bachelor's degree or advanced degree in Finance, Accounting, Engineering, or a related quantitative field
- 2-4 years + of experience in Investment Banking, Private Equity, M&A, or Corporate Development within a Capital Market setting
- Strong business development and financial analysis skills, including building financial models
- Willingness to travel up to 25% of the time
- CFA or CIIA (asset)
- Familiarity with a buy-and-build model and experience/knowledge in VMS, software, and technology
- Demonstrated thirst for learning about different businesses in diverse industries
- Possesses a growth mindset, consistently seeking personal and process improvement
- Strong interpersonal skills to build and maintain genuine, long-term relationships
- Entrepreneurial mindset, capable of independently navigating challenges and setting up operations in new countries
- Demonstrated leadership skills with the potential to build, grow, and manage a local team in the future
- At least a professional level of English, both written and verbal, is essential
- Legally authorized to work in Canada
