Job Description

The primary role of this position is to provide critical support in reducing production downtime, assisting the Production Supervisor or Line Lead Hand in planning and supporting the production staff in a manner that creates engagement and productivity within the team. Key responsibilities include:

  • Supporting the PURATOS safety and quality system by implementing and following procedures, enforcing GMP requirements, and participating in training.
  • Performing tasks as necessary to meet daily targets and filling in for breaks, scheduled and unscheduled absences.
  • Working independently and collaboratively with others.
  • Capable of bending and lifting up to 60 pounds.
  • Responding appropriately to emergency/unscheduled equipment issues and troubleshooting problems, making a determination if Maintenance needs to be called to address the issue.
Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities Include:

  • Practicing and enforcing QA, HACCP, Food Safety, and SQF 2000 requirements in all aspects of production operations.
  • Assisting in developing SOPs and Standard Work documentation processes and tasks for essential day-to-day operations, training to SOPs, and ensuring employee adherence to SOPs when performing job responsibilities and tasks.
  • Actively participating in toolbox meetings with other staff.
  • Ensuring a respectful, safe, and healthy work environment for staff.
  • Assisting with positive cross-functional/departmental relationships.
  • Maintaining a clean and organized workspace.
  • Identifying and recommending measures to improve methods, performance, and quality of processes and suggesting changes in working conditions to increase efficiency.
  • Safe handling of chemicals, manual and/or electrical pallet jacks.
  • Being a safety leader, working together with others, and looking out for others.
  • Reporting all quality and safety issues immediately.
  • Performing miscellaneous tasks as required.
Hazards and Safety Requirements

This position is responsible for materials including the safe operation of the machine and the handling of product. The machine area must be kept clean and tidy and free of hazards. Care must be taken not to get caught in any mechanisms. Do not remove or make ineffective any protective devices required by the employer or by regulations. Do not use or operate any equipment or work in a way that may endanger any worker. Report any known workplace hazard to the employer or supervisor.

Estimated Salary Range

$60,000 - $80,000 per year, depending on experience.
