Job DescriptionThis is an exciting opportunity for a geotechnical engineer to provide expert services to a variety of industries across Canada. As an Intermediate Geotechnical Engineer, you will be responsible for:
- Project management of geotechnical projects;
- Conduct field drilling programs, construction monitoring or instrumentation programs relating to geotechnical projects;
- Geotechnical analyses of stability, stress, deformation, and foundation response, utilizing a suite of software routines;
- Prepare and write proposals, fee estimates, and technical reports as directed by the Engineering or Branch Manager;
- Coordinate and conduct forensic and field investigation programs;
- Supervise the work of technologists and junior engineers and provide technical direction;
- Mentoring and development of junior staff.
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- 7 years of relevant experience in the Geotechnical Engineering field and an undergraduate and/or graduate degree in Geotechnical Engineering or Geological Engineering;
- The ability to conduct desktop and field-level terrain assessments;
- Familiarity with geotechnical instrumentation and monitoring of geohazards;
- Experience involving 2D and 3D geotechnical software packages, such as RocScience;
- Class 5 driver's license.
