Maintenance Tech Job Description

We're seeking a skilled Maintenance Tech to join our team at 2312 GG Canada Inc. in a 24/7 steam & refrigeration plant environment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Carrying out general repairs and maintenance tasks within and outside the facility
  • Repairing equipment, plumbing, electrical, refrigeration, motor controls, pump seals, and motor bearings
  • Welding and fabricating
  • Preventative maintenance
  • Monitoring and maintaining high and low-pressure boilers
  • General upkeep of the facility
  • Troubleshooting and repairing industrial kitchen equipment
Requirements:
  • 5th or 4th Class Power Engineering certificate
  • Minimum 1 year experience as a maintenance tech in electrical, refrigeration, plumbing, welding, commercial kitchen equipment, and troubleshooting electrical faults and motor controls
  • Previous maintenance experience is an asset
  • Capable of working under pressure
  • Knowledge of HACCP procedures
  • Good communication skills, written, reading, speaking
  • Willing to work shift work, 24 hours/7 days, as a team player
  • Needs to be mechanically inclined
  • Knowledge in electrical, plumbing, welding, troubleshooting, refrigeration/HVAC is an asset

Education Requirements:
  • High School Diploma or GED preferred
  • Must hold a valid 4th or 5th class Power Engineering Certificate
Environmental Requirements:
  • Exposed to extreme temperature changes and noise
  • Must be able to lift, push, pull, move product, equipment, and supplies up to 75 pounds
  • Regularly stands, bends, lifts, and moves intermittently during shifts of 8+ hours
