Job Description

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Electrical Systems Maintenance Technician to join our team as a Commercial Energy Service Apprentice Electrician.

In this role, you will have the opportunity to work under the direction and supervision of a Licensed Electrician on the maintenance of commercial PV, energy storage, and supercharging stations. You will be responsible for maintaining and troubleshooting various types of electrical components, including distribution/production power, lighting, and low voltage systems.

As an Apprentice Electrician, you will work closely with the entire Energy department to assist with the operations and maintenance of power distribution, transformers, lighting, and electrical equipment 480 VAC up to 1000VDC, Inverters, Batteries, DC strings under the guidance of a Licensed Electrician.

You will be responsible for:

  • Maintaining and troubleshooting electrical components
  • Using complex electrical schematics and blueprints
  • Consulting manuals, reading and interpreting diagrams, blueprints, and schematics
  • Performing a wide variety of job scopes, including servicing electric vehicle charging stations and battery energy storage systems

We require a Registered 309A construction and maintenance electrician apprentice with the Skill Trades Ontario (ONTARIO OPENINGS) or Industry Training Authority (VANCOUVER OPENINGS). You should have knowledge of basic electrical theory and Ohm's law, and at least 1-2 years of electrical experience including the installation of electrical equipment.

You will use a variety of tools and equipment, such as power construction equipment, measuring devices, power tools, and testing equipment. You may be required to travel to numerous sites daily and travel up to 2 weeks at a time.
