SCADA Application Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated SCADA Application Specialist to join our team at Kaizen Lab Inc. As a key member of our team, you will play a critical role in enabling real-time monitoring and control of our operations, ensuring efficiency, safety, and compliance, and contributing to a more sustainable and resilient energy landscape.
Key Responsibilities- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to capture and assess SCADA requirements, ensuring seamless integration with our Distributed Energy Resources.
- Design, develop, and maintain SCADA systems based on Inductive Automation Ignition, including the configuration and development of HMI and DH functionality, to optimize our energy management systems.
- Research, test, and evaluate upgrades and enhancements of SCADA software applications, staying ahead of the curve in terms of industry trends and best practices.
- Develop processes and procedures to ensure smooth, efficient, and repeatable DER site onboarding and support operations, minimizing downtime and maximizing productivity.
- Troubleshoot and resolve SCADA issues, providing timely and effective solutions to ensure business continuity.
- Work with project teams to develop estimates on new product requests or projects requiring software development, ensuring accurate and timely delivery.
- Provide technical direction to SCADA project teams on solution architecture, new technologies, and best practices, including sprint planning, retrospectives, and code review.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or related field.
- 3+ years of experience in designing, developing, and maintaining SCADA systems, with a strong focus on real-time monitoring and control.
- Knowledgeable in configuring and developing Inductive Automation SCADA software in the renewables industry, with a deep understanding of SCADA telemetry standards.
- Familiar with Python and/or Jython, with the ability to learn new technologies quickly and adapt to changing requirements.
- Strong desire and ability to learn new technology at a rapid pace, with a passion for staying up-to-date with industry trends and best practices.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and communicate complex technical information to non-technical stakeholders.
