About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Architectural Intern to join our team at Stantec. As a key contributor to our Architecture and Engineering practice, you will work collaboratively with our team to assist clients in the planning and creation of innovative and sustainable building designs.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop designs for projects in various sectors, including institutional, recreation, education, residential, commercial, retail, and healthcare.
  • Assist in business development activities, such as writing proposals and attending conferences.
  • Evaluate and assimilate design changes introduced by clients or project architects.
  • Coordinate architectural design with other members of the design team, including engineering consultants and specialist design disciplines.
  • Manage multiple projects simultaneously with minimal supervision.
  • Prepare deliverables, including reports and drawings, at all project phases.
  • Support good practices and established policies on project delivery, quality control, and safety.
Requirements
  • Professional degree in Architecture and a minimum of 3-5 years of experience.
  • Registered or ability to become registered as an Intern Architect with the Northwest Territories Association of Architects (NWTAA) or another Canadian Architects Association.
  • Strong BIM knowledge and Revit proficiency.
  • Knowledge of additional modeling and design software, such as Rhino, SketchUp, Twinmotion, and Grasshopper.
  • Proficient in Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign) and others.
  • Knowledge of building codes, zoning, and jurisdictional processes.
  • Ability to work effectively in managing multiple projects, priorities, and deadlines.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills in dealing with clients and design team members.
