About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and customer-focused Driver/Swamper to join our team at the Bissell Thrift Shop. As a key member of our retail team, you will be responsible for representing the Bissell Centre brand, providing exceptional customer service, and ensuring the safe and efficient operation of our delivery vehicle.

Key Responsibilities
  • Represent the Bissell Centre brand and values in all interactions with customers, donors, and community participants.
  • Operate a delivery vehicle and equipment, adhering to all safety protocols and regulations.
  • Provide excellent customer service, responding to customer inquiries and resolving issues in a professional and courteous manner.
  • Maintain a clean and organized workspace, adhering to health and safety standards.
  • Collaborate with store staff to achieve sales and customer service goals.
  • Participate in ongoing training and professional development to enhance skills and knowledge.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum 1+ years of experience in a driver/swamper position.
  • Class 5 license, 3-year driver's abstract, and proof of vehicle liability insurance and registration.
  • Familiarity with issues of poverty and Edmonton's urban core is an asset.
Working Conditions

This role requires frequent standing, moving, bending, and lifting, as well as working in a warehouse environment with varying temperatures and potential allergens. The ability to work a combination of weekdays and weekends is required.

Training and Development

Bissell Centre is committed to the ongoing training and development of our staff. As a Driver/Swamper, you will have access to training programs, including Conflict into Calm, Naloxone Kit, WHMIS, and Standard First Aid & CPR/AED.
