At Parsons, we're shaping the future of infrastructure and communities around the world. Our Critical Infrastructure team is seeking a skilled Traffic Engineer to join our Burnaby, BC office. As a key member of our progressive team, you'll work on various multi-modal planning studies and road, highway, and transit projects.

About the Role

This exciting opportunity involves performing both conventional and complex engineering assignments, applying traffic engineering fundamentals and planning techniques. You will be responsible for gathering, analyzing, and reporting on transportation projects, as well as liaising with clients, stakeholders, and the public through various forums.

Responsibilities
  • Stay informed about trends and best practices in transportation and active transportation planning.
  • Contribute transportation planning knowledge and leadership to develop transportation-related programs, plans, and projects.
  • Identify planning and project risks and opportunities based on data analysis, trends, and issues.
  • Develop and apply analytical tools such as intersection capacity analysis software, microsimulation software, travel demand forecasting models, and data analysis software.
  • Deliver presentations and develop technical reports for internal and external stakeholders.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with stakeholders, organize advisory committees, and demonstrate experience in project management and public consultation.
Requirements
  • Degree in Civil Engineering with a focus on Traffic & Transportation Planning.
  • Excellent written and verbal skills, with the ability to present information graphically.
  • Strong interpersonal, organizational, and time management skills.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines under pressure.
  • Preferred computer skills including Microsoft Office, Excel, In-Design, Illustrator, and other planning software.
  • Experience with intersection capacity analysis software, microsimulation software, and data analysis software.

We provide a competitive salary range of $51,400 - $95,600, commensurate with experience.
