About the Role:

We are seeking a skilled Dining Service Attendant to join our team at Verve Senior Living. As a Dining Service Attendant, you will play a critical role in providing exceptional customer service and ensuring the highest quality of food service in our dining room.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Participate in and adhere to continuous quality improvement standards.
  • Serve meals in the dining room to residents and guests.
  • Ensure that the proper dietary restrictions are followed for residents and help meet their personal preferences.
  • Maintain cleanliness in the dining area, including washing dishes, pots, pans, and cleaning kitchen equipment and area, as assigned according to established cleaning procedures.
  • Utilize point of sale system for guest and resident meals.
  • Portion desserts, appetizers, and meals for serving in the dining room as well as serve snacks.
  • Receive and store food supplies.
  • Provide assistance to the cook in the preparation of food and assembly of salad/sandwich plates, as assigned.
  • Comply with infection control processes and protocols as directed, e.g. outbreak management.
  • Maintain effective communication, both written and verbal, with co-workers, residents, and guests, including addressing resident concerns during dining service.

Requirements:

  • Minimum of grade 12 education required.
  • Minimum 2 years' experience in a similar serving position preferred.
  • An understanding of food service and preparation is essential.
  • Must have a valid regional safe food handler's certificate.
  • Must have a valid alcohol serving certificate.
  • Must be able to communicate effectively, both written and verbally, in the English language.
  • Dependable, responsible, and an ability to work well with others in a team environment and independently.
