Operations Supervisor Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Operations Supervisor to join our team in Edmonton, Alberta.

About the Role:

As an Operations Supervisor, you will be responsible for planning, organizing, and managing the work of your teams to ensure customer satisfaction. You will report to the Branch Manager and be in charge of the Cash Services Messenger team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan and manage the work of your employees to meet customer needs
  • Investigate and resolve customer and shipper complaints
  • Serve as a contact person for all workers from assigned territories
  • Implement schedule and policy changes
  • Conduct employee training sessions on various topics
  • Promote safe work activities and conduct safety audits
  • Participate in disciplinary processes and grievance settlements
  • Monitor operations to ensure compliance with policies and regulations
  • Monitor spending to ensure expenses are within approved budgets
  • Collaborate with other supervisors and staff to formulate and implement policies and goals
  • Prepare management recommendations and conduct investigations as needed

Requirements:

  • 3-5 years' experience in administration and management of unionized employees
  • Available to work on an afternoon and weekend schedule
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills (English)
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint
  • Valid driver's license with a good driving record
  • Health and Safety management experience
  • Working knowledge of WCB reporting process
  • Possession acquisition license (PAL) or willingness to obtain
  • Driven by offering exceptional customer service
  • Sense of urgency, outstanding communication, and problem-solving skills
  • Strong teamwork and partnership orientation
  • Mechanical and/or electrical inclination is an asset
