Horticulture Assistant

At Fairmont Banff Springs, we are seeking a skilled Horticulture Assistant to join our Hotel Grounds team. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for maintaining the hotel's interior and exterior plant life, ensuring a high level of quality and attention to detail.

• Assist the Horticulturist in maintaining interior plants, including watering, monitoring health, and cleaning.
• Support the maintenance and care of arrangements and seasonal plants as required.
• Perform labor-intensive tasks such as shoveling, lifting, pushing, walking, digging, and other duties as assigned.
• Contribute to the upkeep of gardens and plant containers throughout the property during the summer months.
• Assist with holiday decorations and snow removal during the winter season.

• Previous experience as a gardener or in a greenhouse/nursery is an asset.
• Strong ability in indoor and outdoor plant care is preferred.
• Must have a Class 5 driver's license and a driver's abstract in good standing.
• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods, with frequent lifting and carrying of up to 70 lbs.
• Comfortable working at heights and in a variety of temperatures and conditions.
• Excellent communication skills, attention to detail, and strong organizational skills.
