About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled IT Infrastructure Engineer to optimize and maintain our company's IT infrastructure. In this role, you will be responsible for managing and enhancing our hardware, software, and network systems to ensure optimal performance and reliability.

Key Responsibilities
  • Implement and maintain networking and security technologies, including capacity planning and infrastructure modernization.
  • Implement and upgrade virtualization software, storage systems & plan networking topology changes accordingly.
  • Design, deploy, and manage tools for monitoring, reporting, and managing infrastructure components.
  • Develop and implement repeatable processes for network patching, system maintenance, upgrades, and asset management.
  • Serve as a technical escalation point for complex infrastructure issues, leading resolution efforts.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and implement infrastructure synergies.
  • Ensure high availability and performance of all networking equipment and infrastructure.
  • Manage and optimize on-premises and cloud-based systems, including servers, storage, and network connections.
  • Implement and maintain robust security measures, including firewall configurations and VPN connections.
  • Assist in vendor relationship management and liaison with external technical support providers.
  • Contribute to IT strategic planning, establishing best practices and processes to align IT infrastructure with business goals.
  • Conduct performance tuning and ensure high availability of infrastructure components.
  • Research, evaluate, and recommend new technologies to address evolving infrastructure needs.
  • Develop tools and processes to maximize infrastructure efficiency and utilization.
  • Perform system monitoring, change management, and capacity planning activities.
  • Engage with various departments and project stakeholders to understand and meet infrastructure requirements.
  • Mentor team members and provide technical guidance on infrastructure-related matters.
  • Other duties as required to support the overall IT infrastructure ecosystem.
Requirements
  • 6+ years of hands-on experience in IT infrastructure management and administration
  • Advanced knowledge of Linux/Unix server & Windows operating systems and virtualization technologies (e.g., Proxmox, XEN, KVM, Openstack)
  • Prior experience with monitoring, alert management & service assurance (eg: Zabbix, PagerDuty, Cacti, MRTG, Grafana stack etc)
  • Familiarity with storage management technologies (eg: Ceph)
  • Experience with infrastructure automation and orchestration tools (eg: Kubernetes, Docker, Ansible, Chef, Terraform)
  • Demonstrated expertise in network administration and infrastructure management.
  • Strong proficiency in designing, implementing, and maintaining complex network architectures adhering to service level agreements (SLAs)
  • In-depth knowledge of infrastructure components and best practices.
  • Practical experience with a wide range of software and hardware products from vendors such as Microsoft, Cisco, Mikrotek and Dell, with a preference for open-source solutions in Linux.
  • Exceptional technical communication and writing skills, including the ability to create clear and concise requirements, design specifications, and technical documentation.
  • Comprehensive understanding of network security management, internet firewalls, routing technologies, intrusion prevention, and intrusion detection systems
  • Familiarity with cloud technologies and hybrid infrastructure environments ( AWS, Google Cloud, Physical data centers)
  • Relevant certifications (e.g., CCNA, CCNP, MCSE, RHCE or equivalent) are a plus
Desirable Training and Certifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent combination of education, certification, and experience
  • Relevant certifications such as CCNA or CCNP or MCSE or RHCE, CompTIA Server+, or equivalent
  • Knowledge of IT Infrastructure Library (ITIL) principles.
  • Certifications in cybersecurity (e.g., Security+, CISSP, or CISM).
