Job Summary

We are seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer to join our Electrical department in Winnipeg, MB. The successful candidate will have a strong background in electrical engineering, with experience in project management and a proven track record of delivering projects on time and within budget.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and develop electrical systems for industrial facilities, power stations, and commercial buildings
  • Manage and execute multiple projects from proposal to completion, ensuring quality, schedule, and budget objectives are met
  • Prepare specifications, reports, and engineering drawings, and review them for accuracy and completeness
  • Collaborate with other disciplines to execute project deliverables and ensure quality objectives are met
  • Pursue new business opportunities with existing and new clients
  • Mentor and manage junior staff
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering from a recognized university; a postgraduate degree is an asset
  • Seven to ten years of experience in electrical engineering, with demonstrated project management skills
  • Registration or eligibility for registration as a professional engineer in Manitoba and other Canadian provinces
  • Previous consulting experience is preferred
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Demonstrated experience in site investigations, condition assessments, design, and construction support is preferred
  • Detailed knowledge of industrial and utility power distribution systems up to MV and HV levels
  • Experience working with electrical utilities in Canada
  • Detailed knowledge of building systems
  • Detailed knowledge of Canadian Electrical Code, Building Code, and other relevant codes and standards for construction of new facilities and facility expansions
  • Experience working on multi-discipline projects
  • Experience with automation and instrumentation systems, protection and controls for MV and HV, including distribution systems, electrical power system studies, emergency systems, lighting and control systems, fire alarm detection and notification systems, structured cable systems and networking, security systems, and electrical requirements for building mechanical systems
  • Valid driver's license and ability to undergo security clearance checks
