Aecon seeks a seasoned Finance Manager to join its team in Vancouver, BC.
About the Role
This is an exciting opportunity for a results-driven finance professional to support major projects and drive financial success.
Responsibilities
- Oversee and coordinate financial activities within a business unit or functional area, including financial reporting, budgeting, taxation, and month-end close processes.
- Collaborate with senior management to develop annual budgets and quarterly forecasts, as well as review monthly/quarterly deliverables from internal projects or business units.
- Prepare various monthly management report deliverables, implement and manage internal control procedures, and coordinate internal and external audits.
- Analyze variances from budgets/forecast on a monthly/quarterly basis, working closely with business partners to identify areas for improvement.
- Mentor and develop the finance team, building a strong network across various teams to handle analytical and operational issues.
- Support the preparation of ad-hoc financial analyses, including scenario analysis, as required by business partners.
- Assist with new project setup and ensure compliance with IFRS and Aecon policies and procedures.
Requirements
- 5 years of professional finance experience, preferably in the construction industry.
- Excellent communication skills (written and oral), degree in Accounting or Business Management, and Canadian accounting designation (CPA) are required.
- Strong knowledge of IFRS and percentage of completion accounting, demonstrated leadership ability, planning, and organizational skills are essential.
- Ability to work independently and in a team environment, multitasking in a fast-paced environment within a small team, and experience with SAP and Business Objects are valued.
What We Offer
The expected pay range for this position is $95,000-$110,000.
