Job SummaryWe are looking for a skilled legal professional with expertise in environmental law and manufacturing matters. The successful candidate will provide expert advice on environmental requirements and ensure compliance in our sites' day-to-day operations.
Key Responsibilities- Lead complex permitting efforts by forming teams of functional and operational experts, developing permitting strategies, and directing their execution.
- Identify emerging new laws/regulations and proposed changes to existing regulations, assessing their impacts on the company.
- Provide legal services and support with procurement/sales matters, including the drafting, negotiation, and revising of sales/supply agreements.
- Manage litigation matters, including managing external counsel.
- A graduate of an accredited law school and admitted to a provincial/state bar.
- Minimum of 3-7 years of legal experience with environmental and manufacturing matters.
- Bilingual (French & English).
- Very strong oral and written skills.
- Prior in-house experience in or related to the pulp and paper industry is a plus.
The estimated annual salary for this position is $120,000 - $160,000 CAD, depending on experience.
