Key Responsibilities
  • Plumbing and Electrical Repairs: Conduct routine and emergency plumbing and electrical repairs as needed throughout the property, ensuring a safe and functional living environment for our tenants.
  • Painting Common Areas: Maintain the aesthetic appeal of our properties by participating in painting and touch-up projects in common areas, enhancing the overall living experience.
  • Maintenance Inspections: Perform regular property inspections to identify and resolve maintenance issues promptly, including leaks, equipment malfunctions, and safety hazards, ensuring our properties remain in excellent condition.
  • Maintenance Record Keeping: Keep detailed records of all maintenance activities, including work orders, repairs completed, and inventory management, providing valuable insights for future maintenance planning.
  • Respond to Tenant Requests: Address tenant inquiries, concerns, and repair requests in a timely and professional manner, ensuring tenant satisfaction and building strong relationships.
  • Preventive Maintenance: Assist in implementing and maintaining a preventive maintenance program to prolong the lifespan of building systems and equipment, reducing downtime and costs.
  • Health and Safety Compliance: Adhere to safety protocols, wear personal protective equipment when necessary, and report any safety concerns to management, ensuring a safe working environment.
  • Cleaning: Conduct regular cleaning of common areas to uphold cleanliness standards and enhance tenant experience, creating a welcoming atmosphere.
  • After-Hours Emergencies: Be available to respond to after-hours emergencies at the property as needed, providing prompt assistance and ensuring minimal disruption to our tenants.
Requirements
  • High School Diploma or Equivalent: Basic educational requirement for this role.
  • Proven Maintenance Experience: Demonstrated expertise in plumbing, electrical repairs, and general maintenance, with a strong track record of delivering high-quality results.
  • Knowledge of Building Systems: Familiarity with building systems, equipment, and tools related to plumbing and electrical work, ensuring a deep understanding of our properties' infrastructure.
  • Problem-Solving Skills: Ability to troubleshoot issues independently and find effective solutions, thinking critically and creatively.
  • Effective Communication: Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate effectively with tenants and management, building trust and rapport.
  • Attention to Detail: A keen eye for detail and a commitment to delivering high-quality work, ensuring accuracy and precision in all aspects of the role.
  • Physical Fitness: Capable of performing manual tasks, including lifting heavy objects and working in various weather conditions, with a strong emphasis on safety.
  • Valid Driver's License (Asset): Possession of a valid driver's license is advantageous, enabling you to respond to emergencies and conduct site visits efficiently.
  • Bilingualism: Fluent in both English and French, with excellent communication skills and the ability to provide services in both languages, catering to our diverse tenant base.
