About the Role:

As a key member of the AGF Investments team, the Senior Product Strategist will play a critical role in driving the development and execution of the company's ambitious product strategy. This individual will be responsible for leading the expansion of AGF's private and liquid alternatives solutions, as well as the evolution of its global equity and fixed income offerings.

Your Responsibilities:

  • Develop and execute a comprehensive product development strategy that aligns with AGF's business objectives.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to research and analyze investment products, identifying opportunities for growth and expansion.
  • Develop and present business cases for new investment products, including competitor analysis and market intelligence.
  • Advise the business on optimal product structures and characteristics for distribution globally, considering vehicle structures and regulatory regimes.
  • Oversee the execution of product launches, partnering with senior stakeholders to drive implementation.
  • Lead strategic product restructuring initiatives to drive business growth.
  • Manage and mentor junior/mid-level team members, providing guidance and support to ensure their success.
  • Build strong relationships with internal teams across the business, fostering a collaborative and supportive environment.
  • Participate in industry body working groups and engage with industry associations to stay up-to-date on market trends and best practices.
  • Collaborate with Marketing & Innovation to support Distribution with effective marketing plans and materials, knowledge, and training for product structures and investment solutions.

Your Qualifications:

  • Minimum 7 years' experience in investment product development and/or global product structuring, with a minimum of 3 years' experience in structuring alternative investment solutions (private and/or liquid).
  • Knowledge of Canadian, U.S., and Europe-domiciled investment product-related vehicles, including a working knowledge of investment strategies and styles employed by fixed income, equity, and alternative portfolio managers.
  • Knowledge of pool fund trusts, limited partnerships, LLCs, offshore feeders, UCITs is preferred.
  • Understanding of operational aspects of alternative product development, such as capital call process, etc.
  • Strong knowledge of investment industry services and distribution channels.
  • People management experience.
  • Ability to build relationships with teams across the organization, excellent interpersonal skills, working effectively with individuals across cultures, functions, and levels of seniority.
  • Undergraduate degree required. Additionally, CFA, MBA, or Masters in Finance or Economics, CAIA is a plus.
