About the Role

We are seeking a reliable and friendly Kitchen Helper to join our team at CHRIZYAL CAFE. As a key member of our kitchen team, you will be responsible for maintaining a clean and hygienic kitchen environment, preparing food, and assisting with food handling and storage.

Key Responsibilities
  • Stock refrigerators and salad bars, and ensure all food is stored and handled safely.
  • Use manual and electrical appliances to clean, peel, slice and trim foodstuffs as needed.
  • Clean and sanitize all kitchen areas, including work surfaces, cupboards, storage areas, appliances, and equipment.
  • Handle and store cleaning products, and maintain a safe and organized workspace.
  • Receive, unpack, and store supplies in refrigerators, freezers, cupboards, and other storage areas.
  • Remove kitchen garbage and trash, and maintain a clean and tidy kitchen environment.
  • Sharpen kitchen knives, and maintain all kitchen equipment in good working order.
  • Sweep, mop, wash, and polish floors, and maintain a clean and safe workspace.
  • Wash, peel, and cut vegetables and fruit, and prepare food for service.
Requirements
  • You will be a team player who is reliable, friendly, and able to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • You will have a basic understanding of kitchen operations, food safety, and sanitation procedures.
  • You will be able to work in a team environment, and communicate effectively with colleagues and management.
  • You will be available to work a variety of shifts, including mornings, afternoons, and evenings.
  • You will have a strong work ethic, and be able to maintain a high level of productivity in a busy kitchen environment.
Working Conditions
  • You will work in a fast-paced kitchen environment, with a high level of noise and activity.
  • You will be required to stand for long periods, and lift heavy objects as needed.
  • You will work in a well-ventilated area, with a temperature range of 18-22°C.
