Fire Apparatus Mechanic Role




  • Inspect, test, and repair all types of fire truck aerial ladders and pumps.
  • Identify and complete all necessary repairs needed.
  • Inspecting each unit for any defects, loose parts, etc.
  • Check all repair work to ensure that equipment is in good and safe operating condition.
  • Review documentation and or repair order to ensure all required information on repair order is accurate, legible, and complete.
  • Record parts and equipment utilized on the repair order and ensure the parts person is aware of the stock taken.


Requirements




  • Previous experience working on emergency vehicles is an asset.
  • Mechanical knowledge/aptitude in electrical and mechanical systems.
  • Understand and adhere to the Ministry of Transportation rules and regulations.
  • Dependable, hardworking, punctual, reliable, team player with a positive attitude.
