About the Role

Prairieland Trenching Ltd is seeking a skilled Hydrovac Truck Operator to join our team. As a Hydrovac Truck Operator, you will be responsible for operating a hydrovac truck to excavate and vacuum soil and other materials.

Key Responsibilities
  • Operate a hydrovac truck to excavate and vacuum soil and other materials
  • Perform pre-trip, en route, and post-trip inspections to ensure the vehicle is in good working condition
  • Calculate the cost of truck repairs and new parts if needed
  • Plan or adjust routes based on changing conditions to minimize fuel consumption and carbon emissions
  • Coach colleagues on new methods or work techniques
  • Oversee the condition of the vehicle and inspect tires, lights, brakes, cold storage, and other equipment
  • Perform brake adjustments and emergency roadside repairs
  • Ensure all aspects of the vehicle are properly maintained and inspected
Requirements
  • Air Brakes Endorsement
  • Experience with hydrovac trucks and equipment
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Strong problem-solving and communication skills
