About the Job

The Alzheimer Society of B.C. is seeking a skilled Healthcare Education Specialist to join our team.

Description:

  • Facilitate standardized dementia training programs for frontline staff in long-term care across the province.
  • Work closely with the program coordinator to schedule training sessions and support program logistics.
  • Ensure a successful learner experience by supporting learners from registration to training completion.
  • Provide ongoing support to frontline long-term care staff who have completed the U-First program.
  • Promote the health-care provider education program through outreach and awareness activities.

About You:

We are looking for a passionate educator with 3-5 years of experience in the health or social care sector, preferably in direct care roles with people living with dementia.

Key Qualifications:

  • Experience in group facilitation and delivering standardized education programs online or in person.
  • Demonstrated value for personhood and applied knowledge and application of person-centred approaches and active listening.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, with a demonstrated ability to work independently and as a member of a team.
  • Ability to build trusting relationships with community partners and healthcare providers.

Benefits:

  • Competitive salary range: $51,400 - $59,000 per year.
  • Temporary until September 30, 2027 (3-year grant-funded term position).
  • Full-time position with 35 hours per week.
