Kitchen Assistant

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Kitchen Assistant to join our team at Red Tomato Pies. As a key member of our kitchen staff, you will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of our food preparation and service areas.
Key Responsibilities- Cleaning and Sanitation: Clean and sanitize all kitchen equipment, utensils, and work surfaces to maintain a high level of hygiene and food safety.
- Dishroom Operations: Operate dishwashers, wash and dry dishes, glassware, and flatware, and maintain a clean and organized dishroom area.
- Food Preparation: Assist in the preparation of simple food items, such as heating and finishing dishes, and portioning and wrapping foods.
- Inventory Management: Receive, unpack, and store supplies in refrigerators, freezers, cupboards, and other storage areas, and maintain accurate records of food quantities.
- Waste Management: Remove kitchen garbage and trash, and maintain a clean and organized kitchen area.
- Equipment Maintenance: Sharpen kitchen knives, and perform routine maintenance tasks to ensure the proper functioning of kitchen equipment.
- Housekeeping: Sweep, mop, wash, and polish floors, and maintain a clean and organized kitchen area.
- Food Handling: Wash, peel, and cut vegetables and fruit, and maintain a high level of food safety and handling practices.
As a Kitchen Assistant at Red Tomato Pies, you will work in a fast-paced environment with a focus on teamwork and multitasking. You will be required to stand for extended periods and lift up to 9 kg (20 lbs) on a regular basis.
Requirements- Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate.
- Experience: Will train.
- Language: English.
- Work Term: Permanent.
- Hours: 35 to 40 hours per week.
