Job Title: Housekeeping Aide

At the Health Sciences Centre, we are seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Housekeeping Aide to join our team. As a Housekeeping Aide, you will play a vital role in maintaining a clean and safe environment for our patients, visitors, and staff.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Clean and disinfect patient care units, residences, cafeterias, offices, laboratories, and other areas as assigned.
  • Operate and maintain cleaning equipment and supplies in accordance with established procedures.
  • Report any safety hazards, maintenance issues, or housekeeping concerns to the Supervisor or Customer Representative.
  • Assist with flood cleanup, post-construction cleanup, and other special projects as needed.
Requirements:
  • Previous related experience is an asset.
  • Grade 10 education, Manitoba standards, is required.
  • Classroom and on-the-job training will be provided by Housekeeping.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Competency in an Indigenous language and/or knowledge of Indigenous customs, traditions, and values is an asset.
  • Ability to read and speak English effectively is required.
Physical Demands:
  • The position involves walking, bending, stretching, and lifting/carrying/moving moderately heavy weights.
  • Exposure to chemical substances, moisture, odour, noise, vibration, dust, grime, and interruptions is expected.
