Collaborative Mental Health Opportunity
We are seeking a skilled Physician to join our team at Island Health, Mental Health and Substance Use, in a collaborative role with Psychiatry. This position offers a unique opportunity to provide mental health services to patients in Nanaimo, working closely with a supervising Psychiatrist to assess, diagnose, and develop treatment plans.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with Psychiatry to provide mental health services to patients in Nanaimo
- Assess patients and develop diagnosis and treatment plans in consultation with the supervising Psychiatrist
- Generate consultation reports to be sent back to referring primary care providers

Requirements:
- Physician with an interest in mental health and substance use concerns

Working Arrangements:
- Contracted shifts for direct and indirect patient care are expected to overlap with Psychiatrist's availability
- No after-hours or on-call expectations
- No patient attachment expectations
Electronic Medical Record:
- Cerner is the Electronic Medical Record used to support patient care
Location:
- MSHU Services at Brooks Landing
Virtual Care Option:
- Physicians can provide either virtual care (off-site) or in-person care
