About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Carpenter and Joiner to join our team at Iron Home Renovation Inc. as a key member of our construction team.

Key Responsibilities
  • Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and sketches to determine work requirements and ensure accurate execution.
  • Measure, cut, shape, assemble, and join various materials, including wood, wood substitutes, lightweight steel, and other materials, to create high-quality structures and features.
  • Build foundations, install floor beams, lay subflooring, and erect walls and roof systems, ensuring stability and safety.
  • Fit and install windows, doors, stairs, mouldings, and hardware, paying attention to detail and quality.
  • Provide guidance and instruction to apprentices, promoting knowledge sharing and skill development.
  • Supervise and lead other workers, fostering a collaborative and productive work environment.
  • Maintain, repair, and renovate residential and commercial properties, including wooden structures in various settings.
Work Environment

The successful candidate will work in a fast-paced construction environment, often at heights, in confined spaces, and in noisy and dusty conditions. They will be required to work outdoors and in various locations, including construction sites and residential areas.

Requirements
  • Secondary (high) school graduation certificate.
  • Will train and develop skills in carpentry and joinery.
  • Excellent physical fitness and ability to handle heavy loads.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team.
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision and meet tight deadlines.
  • Reliability, punctuality, and a strong work ethic.
Language and Work Schedule

The language of work is English, and the work schedule is 40 hours per week. This is a permanent position with opportunities for growth and development.
