Job SummaryWe are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) Consultant to join our team. The successful candidate will play a key role in developing and implementing our DEI strategy, leading initiatives that promote a culture of inclusivity and respect, and ensuring compliance with relevant legislation and regulations.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and implement a comprehensive DEI strategy that aligns with the hospital's vision and values.
- Lead initiatives that promote a culture of inclusivity and respect, including training programs, workshops, and events.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to assess efficiency and needs, and develop solutions that promote diversity, equity, and inclusion.
- Conduct environmental scans of regional partners and identify best practices in DEI.
- Provide support and assistance in the development, creation, and delivery of training initiatives on topics designed to increase awareness and support of equity and inclusion values.
- Monitor budgets to ensure costs do not exceed established budget.
- Collaborate with committee teams to encourage commitment, participation, and allocate resources.
- University degree in Organizational Behaviour or Organizational Development related field or an equivalent combination of education and related work experience.
- Experience with DEI initiatives and leading sustainable culture change and transformation.
- Familiarity with the Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act and the organizational obligations associated with this legislation.
- A minimum of 3 years of experience working and applying adult learning principles, change management, or project implementation.
- Exceptional interpersonal skills to effectively build relationships and interact with others at all levels in the organization.
- Strong consulting and advisory skills; well-developed facilitation and presentation skills for a wide variety of audiences.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills to communicate in a meaningful way.
- Experience managing projects from conception to implementation.
- Strong analytical and reporting skills.
- Advanced knowledge of MS Office (Word, Excel, Access, and Outlook), MS Teams, MS Forms.
- Demonstrated ability to manage a large and diversified workload with often rapidly changing priorities and challenging deadlines.
- Superior conflict resolution and interpersonal skills, including teamwork, facilitation, coaching, and negotiation.
