Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) Consultant to join our team. The successful candidate will play a key role in developing and implementing our DEI strategy, leading initiatives that promote a culture of inclusivity and respect, and ensuring compliance with relevant legislation and regulations.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Develop and implement a comprehensive DEI strategy that aligns with the hospital's vision and values.
  2. Lead initiatives that promote a culture of inclusivity and respect, including training programs, workshops, and events.
  3. Collaborate with stakeholders to assess efficiency and needs, and develop solutions that promote diversity, equity, and inclusion.
  4. Conduct environmental scans of regional partners and identify best practices in DEI.
  5. Provide support and assistance in the development, creation, and delivery of training initiatives on topics designed to increase awareness and support of equity and inclusion values.
  6. Monitor budgets to ensure costs do not exceed established budget.
  7. Collaborate with committee teams to encourage commitment, participation, and allocate resources.
Qualifications
  1. University degree in Organizational Behaviour or Organizational Development related field or an equivalent combination of education and related work experience.
  2. Experience with DEI initiatives and leading sustainable culture change and transformation.
  3. Familiarity with the Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act and the organizational obligations associated with this legislation.
  4. A minimum of 3 years of experience working and applying adult learning principles, change management, or project implementation.
  5. Exceptional interpersonal skills to effectively build relationships and interact with others at all levels in the organization.
  6. Strong consulting and advisory skills; well-developed facilitation and presentation skills for a wide variety of audiences.
  7. Excellent oral and written communication skills to communicate in a meaningful way.
  8. Experience managing projects from conception to implementation.
  9. Strong analytical and reporting skills.
  10. Advanced knowledge of MS Office (Word, Excel, Access, and Outlook), MS Teams, MS Forms.
  11. Demonstrated ability to manage a large and diversified workload with often rapidly changing priorities and challenging deadlines.
  12. Superior conflict resolution and interpersonal skills, including teamwork, facilitation, coaching, and negotiation.
