About the Role

We are seeking a skilled and reliable Arena Maintenance Worker to join our team at North Vancouver Recreation & Culture. As a key member of our facilities team, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our recreation facilities, including ice-making and resurfacing equipment, refrigeration systems, and building maintenance tasks.

Key Responsibilities
  • Operate ice-making and resurfacing equipment, and monitor refrigeration systems to ensure optimal performance.
  • Perform a variety of semi-skilled building maintenance and minor repair tasks, including janitorial duties.
  • Work under minimal supervision to ensure that janitorial tasks are completed and deal courteously and effectively with patrons.
  • Prepare and maintain simple records related to the work.
  • Use and care for equipment used in the work.
Requirements
  • Working knowledge of ice-making operations, building maintenance, and janitorial work.
  • Ability to operate ice-making and resurfacing equipment, and monitor refrigeration systems.
  • Ability to perform semi-skilled building maintenance and minor repair tasks, and janitorial duties.
  • Ability to work under minimal supervision and deal with patrons.
  • Completion of Grade 10 supplemented by training related to the work, or an equivalent combination of training and experience.
Desirable Qualifications
  • Ice Facility Operator Certificate or equivalent.
  • Valid BC Class 5 Driver's License and access to a vehicle for NVRC business.
