About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Upholsterer to join our team at AMAN FURNITURE MFG AND SALE. As an Upholsterer, you will be responsible for creating high-quality furniture pieces that meet our customers' expectations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Discuss upholstery fabric, colour and style with customers to ensure their needs are met.
  • Provide cost estimates for upholstering furniture or other items, taking into account materials and labour costs.
  • Replace worn-out webbing, springs and other furniture parts to ensure the longevity of our products.
  • Lay out, cut, fabricate and install upholstery to create visually appealing and functional pieces.
  • Tack, glue or sew ornamental trim, braids or buttons to add a touch of elegance to our furniture.
  • Repair furniture frames and refinish wood surfaces to restore them to their original glory.
  • Operate sewing machines or sew by hand to create intricate designs and patterns.
  • Garnish the bottom and the back of a seat with interoven rattan to add a touch of sophistication.
Requirements
  • Manual dexterity and attention to detail to ensure high-quality workmanship.
  • Ability to distinguish between colours and create harmonious colour schemes.
  • Combination of sitting, standing, walking and bending, crouching, kneeling to complete tasks efficiently.
  • 1 year to less than 2 years of experience in a related field, such as furniture upholstery and repair.
  • Permanent employment with 32 hours per week.
  • English language proficiency.
