Underwriting Excellence
This Senior Underwriting Consultant will apply advanced underwriting expertise to assess life and critical illness products, manage risk, and contribute to specialized projects.

Key Responsibilities
- Assess medical, financial, and non-medical risk factors for affluent and high net worth Canadians
- Provide mentorship and training to other underwriters
- Collaborate with colleagues to ensure team success and maintain high-quality audit results
- Participate in traditional and data-based projects, assess claims, rescissions, and reinstatements
- Prepare and present development opportunities for distribution partners, colleagues, and internal business partners

Requirements
- Superior technical knowledge in medical, financial, and non-medical underwriting
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with a proactive mindset
- Comfortable in a dynamic work environment with flexibility to adapt to shifting priorities
- Strong reinsurance relationships and negotiation skills
- Strong communication skills, written and verbal
- Fluency in using data as an underwriting tool or willingness to learn
- College or University degree or equivalent experience
- 5+ years of demonstrated professional experience as a Life and Critical Illness Underwriter with experience in the affluent and high net worth market
- FLMI / FALU / CPU designation(s) or currently working towards them
