Job Description

Thank you for your interest in a career as a Psychologist/Psychological Associate with the York Region District School Board. This application is for Psychologist/Psychological Associate (Full-time, Contract and Temporary Positions Available) for the 2024/2025 school year.

Please Note: Travel from site to site will be required.

Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Psychologist/Psychological Associate to provide psychological assessment, consultation, and programming services to support the academic and social-emotional needs of students.

Key Responsibilities
  • Responding to referrals from school staff pertaining to students encountering challenges in learning or behavioral domains.
  • Conducting Psychological Assessments, interpreting results and writing comprehensive reports.
  • Consulting with teachers and other school staff, as well as student and parents.
  • Liaising with community agencies.
  • Brief counseling of students and parents.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Requirements
  • Registration with the College of Psychologists of Ontario, or documentation of eligibility for registration is required.
  • Experience working with children and adolescents, preferably in a school setting.
  • Good organizational, interpersonal and communication skills (oral and written).
  • Ability to work collaboratively with others.
  • A valid driver's license and access to own transportation are also a necessity for the position.
