Senior Mechanical Engineering Project Lead

We are currently recruiting for a Senior Mechanical Engineering Project Lead to join our team in Vancouver or Calgary.
- Deliver mechanical engineering design according to required timeframes and standards by supervising the performance of mechanical engineers, reviewing deliverables and providing high-level technical expertise.
- Facilitate the purchase of appropriate equipment by specifying requirements and assisting procurement with the purchase of equipment.
- Contribute to the cost-efficient delivery of mechanical engineering by managing the man hour budget and reviewing and approving mechanical capital cost estimates, recommending alternative approaches where possible.
- Assist the development and review of relevant mechanical contracts by providing advice and input as required.
- Issue drawings and other relevant information for construction by working with engineers and designers.
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- A minimum 10 years mechanical design engineering experience in a relevant industry, e.g. mining, mineral processing, materials handling, specifically gold and copper.
- The ability to resolve most technical issues in an efficient manner utilizing personal knowledge, external consultants and in-house experience.
- Good knowledge of CAD and 3-D software and MS Office.
- Knowledge of multi-discipline engineering.
- A commitment to mentoring and coaching of personnel.
- Proven ability to manage, motivate and influence employees at all levels.
- Strong analytical skills.
- Well-developed written and oral skills.
- The ability to prioritize tasks for the design team and manage time effectively.
