• Participate in the planning, approving, and managing of capital spending and related budgets for Killam’s national portfolio of properties.
• Lead capital projects related to building envelope, roofing, and window replacement.
• Actively participate in long-term, and ongoing, capital planning.
• Provide support to Property Managers, including technical advice related to renovations, maintenance issues, and capital projects, as well as scheduling and project planning.
• Drive process improvement relating to project management including preparation of tender documents, performing site inspections, generating deficiency lists, and project close-out documentation.
• Lead, negotiate, motivate, and develop relationships with managers, vendors, and contractors.
• Develop organizational benchmarks and quality standards, related to capital projects, to drive ongoing improvements.", "Qualifications": "Requirements
• Minimum of two to three years of experience in a similar role.
• Proven project management skills and experience.
• A degree in Engineering or Architecture would be an asset.
• Experience in the construction industry, specifically in building construction.
• Must have a good understanding of site safety requirements and ensure contractors are meeting all regulatory standards.
• Some formal project and construction management training would be considered an asset.
• Some formal training and/or experience in the building code, fire code, and building systems, in particular building envelope, roofing, and windows.
• Ability to investigate the cause and solution to water leaks in the building envelope.
• Proven project management skills and experience.
• Strong supervisory and leadership skills.
• Organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Strong decision-making skills and business acumen.
• Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
