Responsibilities
The successful candidate will be accountable for all aspects of food and dietary services within the care home, including planning, organizing, and providing high-quality meals that cater to resident preferences and dietary requirements. Key responsibilities include:
  • Developing and implementing menus that meet legislative requirements and promote healthy eating habits.
  • Selecting, supervising, and motivating a team of dietary staff to ensure seamless operations and high productivity levels.
  • Maintaining strict adherence to Public Health regulations and standards in all food preparation and storage areas.
  • Liaising with residents, families, and healthcare professionals to understand individual needs and preferences.
  • Collaborating with the kitchen team to create an engaging dining experience that promotes social interaction and community building.

Requirements
To succeed in this dynamic role, candidates must possess strong leadership skills, excellent communication abilities, and a deep understanding of nutrition management principles. The ideal candidate should have:
  • A post-secondary education in dietary management or a related field.
  • At least 2 years of experience in a similar role within a long-term care setting.
  • Current membership in the Canadian Society of Nutritional Management (C.S.N.M.) or a Registered Dietitian certification.
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a unionized environment.

Estimated Salary Range
$80,000 - $110,000 per annum, commensurate with experience and qualifications.
