Key Responsibilities
  • Receive and log in samples in preparation for analysis, reviewing documentation to assign identification numbers and enter information into the Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS).
  • Contact clients to obtain and clarify missing or unclear information to ensure accurate identification of client codes, test codes, and sample contents.
  • Store samples in a controlled environment until analysis is complete and dispose of excess samples properly, maintaining sample integrity.
  • Prepare packages for shipping vendors and follow procedures to send packages and maintain related documentation.
  • Assist client service personnel with developing customized client reports and laboratory personnel with sample preparation and analysis.
  • Support corporate quality and continuous improvement processes.
Requirements
  • Associate's degree and 1+ year of relevant work experience or equivalent experience.
  • Basic knowledge of computer operation skills to manipulate keyboards and enter sample information into LIMS.
  • Broad knowledge of personal computer software and data entering skills to input data into LIMS and generate reports.
  • Organizational skills to keep track of samples and documentation.
  • Time management skills to ensure timely preparation of samples for testing.
  • Written and oral communication skills to obtain or clarify test instructions with clients.
Work Environment

The incumbent will work in a laboratory setting with proper temperature and lighting control. Occasional exposure to laboratory fumes, chemicals, and materials may occur when in the laboratory. The incumbent must be able to lift sample packages ranging from 10-50 pounds to complete job tasks and spend extended time standing.
