Clinical Mental Health and Substance Use Nurse

The Clinical Mental Health and Substance Use Nurse provides assessment, treatment, and case management services to individuals with serious mental health problems, substance use issues, and/or developmental disabilities. This role is part of the Hospitals & Communities Integrated Services (HCIS) or Tertiary Mental Health Services multi-disciplinary care team.
Key Responsibilities:
• Conduct comprehensive assessments of clients' mental health and substance use needs
• Develop and implement individualized treatment plans to address clients' needs
• Provide case management services to ensure clients receive timely and responsive treatment and clinical supports
• Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to provide comprehensive care to clients
In accordance with the organization's vision and values, the Clinical Mental Health and Substance Use Nurse works as an integral part of an integrated mental health and substance use service. This role provides urgent outreach, responsive assessment and treatment, case management, GP shared care, education, and support to individuals experiencing acute and/or chronic mental illness and/or problem substance use.
This is a casual opportunity, which means hours are not guaranteed and may vary, and shifts may be at short notice. Casual employees are eligible to apply for internal postings, including permanent and temporary positions. There are many opportunities with Interior Health that begin with casual employment and lead to regular employment.
The hourly wage for this position is $41.42 to $55.91, effective April 1, 2024.
