Job Summary

The Recreation Worker, Uncertified will play a vital role in developing and delivering recreation programs that promote the physical and mental well-being of clients at Prairie Mountain Health. This position requires a collaborative and independent individual who can work with clients, families, and interdisciplinary team members to provide services that align with our organization's vision, mission, and values.

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan, organize, and implement activity and recreation programs for clients and participants, ensuring a client-centered approach that addresses their physical and mental health needs.
  • Develop and implement group activities that cater to clients' interests, needs, and wishes, promoting socialization and community engagement.
  • Provide instruction and guidance to clients on selected tasks, helping them develop knowledge and abilities that enhance their overall well-being.
  • Communicate effectively with interdisciplinary team members to share clients' progress and revise plans as needed, ensuring seamless collaboration and care.
  • Engage with external partners to develop and implement creative activities and recreational events that meet clients' needs and interests.
  • Ensure that all activity and recreation events are safe, accessible, and inclusive, adhering to clients' diagnosed or medical restrictions.
  • Develop and maintain a monthly recreation/activity calendar that showcases a variety of programs and events, catering to diverse client interests and needs.
  • Estimate, obtain, and adapt space, equipment, and supplies necessary to conduct scheduled activities, ensuring a smooth and efficient program delivery.
  • Complete accurate records and documentation, including statistics, to track program effectiveness and client progress.
  • Maintain activity program statistics and provide regular reports to stakeholders, highlighting program successes and areas for improvement.
  • Ensure a sufficient inventory of supplies is available to meet activity program requirements, maintaining records of supplies used and requisitioning replacements as needed.
  • Assess potential crisis situations and intervene to de-escalate or defuse them, prioritizing client safety and well-being.
  • Ensure equipment is used safely, stored appropriately, and maintained in good working order, adhering to organizational policies and procedures.
