Southbridge Care Homes is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Unregulated Care Provider to join our team in Shelburne, Ontario.
About the Role
This is an exciting opportunity to work in a dynamic and supportive environment, providing exceptional care to residents in a long-term care home setting.
Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate medication administration, ensuring a safe and organized environment for residents.
- Assist with document management and ensure treatments are carried out as per the Medication Administration Record (MAR).
- Complete initial and annual medication administration training and obtain sign-off from the Director of Care.
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to the home or residents, collaborating with the Resident Service Manager.
- Manage stock levels of medications, order new supplies, and store narcotics securely.
- Assist with emergency procedures, enrollment, and discharge processes, and ensure compliance with Occupational Health and Safety procedures.
- Perform other duties as required.
Requirements
- Appropriate degree or diploma in Occupational Health and Safety, Public Health, or a related field.
- One year or more of experience as an Unregulated Care Provider in a long-term care home or hospital setting is an asset.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team, prioritizing tasks based on urgency.
- Excellent communication and comprehension skills, both verbal and written.
- Developed problem-solving skills to address complex issues.
- Physical strength to lift up to 50 LBS.
- CPR and First Aid certification is preferred but not mandatory.
